Leadership Roundtables

During this session, eng leaders explored diverse evaluation methods, stressing transparent criteria, unbiased assessments, and managing biases. We gained some insights of continuous performance monitoring, clear communication on promotion expectations, and recognizing contributions beyond promotions with awards for impactful work.

During the discussion, we talked about shifting from annual performance reviews to a more continuous, leadership-driven approach, with a focus on daily team support. Besides, we also included challenges in rolling out performance management systems, especially given financial constraints and different leadership styles.

We explored the complexities of scaling high-performance engineering organizations, diving deep into creating autonomous, trust-driven teams that can adapt and excel.

During this session, we discussed automating delivery pipelines, managing technical debt, driving change with new technologies, demonstrating engineering’s business value, and developing future leaders who prioritize operational excellence.

In this session, we explored how to support team growth, especially in startup environments. The conversation also touched on the impact of AI in the workplace, with members sharing strategies for upskilling, integrating AI tools, and balancing top-down direction with bottom-up innovation.
