How to Start as an Engineering Manager

As a new manager, the transition into a leadership role can be both exciting and overwhelming.

This roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity for you to connect with and learn from your peers who are also in the early stages of their management careers. This discussion will be led by Francisco Trindade, Director of Engineering @ Braze, and will serve as a space for new managers (or those looking to becoming managers) to share experiences, ask questions, and exchange ideas on how to effectively lead and support your teams.

This roundtable discussion is also a great opportunity to build your network and gain valuable insights into being a good EM.

A little more about our host, Francisco:

Francisco Trindade is an engineering leader who has been around the block. He has worked as a technology consultant for ThoughtWorks, helping teams in different countries, from writing code for startups in the UK to enabling change in large enterprises in Australia. He has founded companies more than once and managed broader engineering organizations, having experience leading teams in many different environments. He is now an Engineering Director at Braze in New York, still constantly thinking about making engineers work better together.
