How to have a great career in a lifetime

The first few chapters of our lives are filled with trying to prove ourselves, demonstrate competency, and be recognized in order to make it to the next level. For women and URMs, traditional career advice often does not work. The path to the career growth for women can be frustrating, especially when women have fewer role models to try to copy to understand how to find great growth opportunities and be recognized for them. In this fireside-chat style talk and Q&A, Belinda will discuss the key career-building strategies that have good potential for re-use, as well as discuss the various kinds of well-intentioned but bad career advice that women often hear. In addition Belinda will explore the notion of building resilience - taking active steps to ensure that a rich and rewarding career in tech can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
