Braving the New World of Remote Workforce

Cynthia Tham is VP of Compliance Platform Engineering at GBG Americas, where she is responsible for delivering a best in class all in one platform to financial institutions to meet anti-money laundering regulations. She came to GBG Americas through the acquisition of Acuant where she built a distributed team in US, Mexico, Romania and Czech Republic.

Cynthia has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UCSD. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, biking, hiking and meeting up with friends. She lives in Palo Alto with her husband and two children.

Marcelo is the COO and co-founder of Remote. Marcelo was previously VP of Engineering at Unbabel and has held several CTO positions. He frequently speaks at events about leadership and managing remote teams. Marcelo is also a startup advisor and mentor to entrepreneurs. He is a passionate engineer, proud dad, and sci-fi nerd.
