Ashmeet is the Founder and Chief Engineer of Engineering Capital. Investing before traditional venture firms, Engineering Capital specializes in leading seed rounds in software companies with a technical insight. Ashmeet’s experience includes running venture capital funds and leadership positions helping build the industry leading products VMware ESX Server and Silicon Graphics WebFORCE. Ashmeet came into venture from VMware, where he ran product management for their flagship product - ESX Server. His successful investments include Azure (IPO NYSE: AZRE) and SignalFx, acquired by Splunk for $1 billion, Tubi.tv (acq: FOX). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Evinced, Kognitos and Nexla. His additional active investments include Asimily, Kentik, Menlo Security, Robust Intelligence, vFunction, and YotaScale – in all of which he was the seed investor. Ashmeet received an MBA from Wharton with Honors, MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a BS in Computer Science summa cum laude from USC. In his spare-time he can be found planning his second trip to Mt. Everest.

Chang Xu is a Partner at Basis Set Ventures, early stage venture capital firm that invests in AI and automation, where she focuses on investing in technical founders building infrastructure / developer tools / AI tools. She previously was a Principal at Upfront Ventures where she worked closely with companies like inVia Robotics, Makespace, Strive, and Nexkey. Prior to investing, she was a founder and an operator. She was the first Product Manager at the Minerva Project. She co-founded and was the COO of Onion Math, an ed-tech startup in China that has raised $90M to-date. She started her career at BCG where she advised clients across technology, retail, healthcare and private equity. She holds an MBA and AB in Applied Math and Computer Science, both from Harvard.

Abbas Haider Ali is currently in an operator role as the VP of Customer Success at GitHub and well as being an active investor as General Partner at GTM Operators Network. Previously he was VP of Customer & Partner Success at Twilio for the Data & Growth business which includes the Segment Customer Data Platform, SendGrid Email and Twilio Engage. Abbas has led both Product and Go-To-Market teams from Series-A scale to public companies in diverse roles spanning field engineering, sales engineering, customer success, professional services, product management & strategy, product marketing, and business development. His experiences have shaped a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership in B2B tech companies. Abbas is an active investor and advisor with a passion for mentorship, in particular for women and underrepresented groups as they take on leadership roles in tech.
